Allen Insurance Group is pleased to announce that Brian O'Reilly of Collingwood, Ontario was the official winner of our 2009 'Get Your Ride On' Motorcycle Sweepstakes contest. The Grand Prize, offered in conjunction with Clarington Honda in Bowmanville, Ontario, was a 2009 Honda VT750 C Shadow Aero.
Allen Insurance Group, an independent insurance broker with six locations in central Ontario, launched the Sweepstakes in February to promote their 'Ride On' motorcycle insurance product in advance of the 2009 bike season.
Bryce Allen, owner of Allen Insurance Group, was on hand to present the bike to Mr. O'Reilly. "This is a pretty exciting day for all of us at Allen Insurance Group. We consider ourselves a fairly modest sized brokerage, so it's not everyday that we get to do something like this," said Mr. Allen. "We created the promotion to gain a bit more awareness around our motorcycle insurance product since we launched 'Ride On' in 2007, and the contest was successful in doing that."
Chuck Clayton, owner of the new Clarington Honda concept super store in Clarington was also on hand for the presentation with staff from Allen Insurance Group. Mr. O'Reilly's name was randomly selected from 25,598 contest entrants submitted over a three month period to Allen Insurance Group's official contest website, www.getyourrideon.ca. Entrants could enter to win the bike at no obligation, as well as request a quote on motorcycle insurance if they wished to do so.
"It's a thrill, I've never won anything before, so this is pretty exciting," said O'Reilly, atop his new motorcycle at the Clarington Honda dealership in Bowmanville. "Actually, I remembered that the contest deadline was approaching and I told a few people at work that I thought I might win, just kind of joking. But then I got a phone call from Johanna Allen telling me that I won and I thought it was someone at work pulling a prank on me, but here I am sitting on a brand new bike. Cool."
